Dora Komatar

I am a part-time freelance illustrator from Slovenia. I work on client commissions and personal projects. I love stationery, interior design, coffee with rice milk, children's books, paper, Asian food, the internet, and sharp pencils.

Ever since I can remember I have enjoyed making art and my constant request to my mom while playing was, »Let's make something out of paper.« I had great support from both parents, who encouraged me to attend classes in drawing and painting. The best course I ever took was in oil painting at Chelsea College of Arts in London, where I made some of my best pieces. My first exhibition was in Prishtina, Kosovo, named »Faces of Paris«.

After having my son, I got inspired to work on children's art and illustration, and I enjoy it immensely.
My perfect working day: Waking up to a rainy day, sitting at my desk with a cup of coffee, listening to a good podcast or music, drawing on my iPad.

My perfect weekend day: Sunny day in nature with my husband & son. Going for a tasty lunch after and cuddling on the couch in the evening.
